- Explosive Crossbow can be a secondary weapon.
- Skorpion is back from COD 4 as well as the Dragunov. G3 could be back from COD4, see screenshot below.

General
- Emblem creator. (Can be seen in full overview).
- Max people in a ranked match is 18.
- You don't unlock weapons, you buy them with in game points you earn by playing.
- Black ops will be steam exclusive and use VAC.
- 50 Ranks.
- You have the choice to vote for two maps or a random map while in the lobby.
- Claymores are equipment.
- Theater Mode similiar to Halo 3.
- Switching weapons take longer.
- Motion sensor equipment (no further info).
- You can dive into prone.
- People say it takes slightly longer to kill.
- Mod tools will come out after release.
- DRM is Steamworks.
- You can customize the color and shape of your reticule.
- Theater mode is on all systems. PS3, 360, and PC.
- Apparently there is facepaint.
- Killcams are back.
- Contracts: time limited challenges that you purchase with COD Points (CP). Categories = Mercenaries, Operations, Specialist. Each is attached to certain play styles and in-game achievements. Mercenary rewards players for kills and kill streaks, Operations are for team players, and Specialists are for unique play styles. (Also seen in full overview.)
- Emblems can be put onto your weapons and your clan tag can be carved into it. See screenshot #1 below.
- I've heard there is slightly more recoil overall.
- Also heard from only one person that there are multiple zoom levels on some or all of the sniper rifles.
Perks
- Pro perks return
- No stopping power, bling, or juggernaut. (Bling is now Warlord.)
- Tier One Perks - Lightweight. Scavenger. Ghost. Flak Jacket. Hardline.
- Tier Two Perks - Hardened. Scout. Steady Aim. Sleight of Hand. Warlord.
- Tier Three Perks - Marathon. Ninja. Second Chance. Hacker. Tactical Mask.
- Ghost is similar to the cold-blooded perk and FlakJacket was seen in Call of Duty: World at War, it reduces explosive damage.
- Your first perk slot determines what your character looks like.
- Second Chance is last stand, of course. Tactical Mask makes you tear gas and flashbang resistant.
- Hardened is bullet penetration, Warlord is the bling perk seen in MW2.
- Marathon is not unlimited sprint anymore.
Killstreaks
- There are at least 11 killstreaks to choose from.
- Dogs from WaW return.
- Napalm Strike, Gunship, Mortar Team, Radio Controlled Car, SAM Turret and Spy Plane killstreak rewards.
- Care packages are back, you can receive special weapons (such as Gatling gun and nade launcher).
- Deathstreaks will NOT make a return.
