"True Thrush" is from Dan Deacon's new album, America, out on Domino August 27 (Rest of the world) / 28 (North America). Find out more information at http://www.dominorecordco.com/america Buy the album on iTunes: http://www.smarturl.it/dandeaconamerica CD/Limited Edition LP/Cassette: http://www.dominorecordco.com/america Directed by Ben O'Brien and Dan Deacon Produced by Dan Deacon and Ben O'Brien (http://www.showbeast.net http://www.benobrien.net) The video co-directed by Ben O'Brien and Dan Deacon is based on a drawing game popular in the Baltimore art collective Wham City, which is in turn based on the game "telephone." For the video, Dan and Ben filmed a simple 13-second scene. That scene was then shown to the next team. After seeing the video that team had 1 hour to recreate it -- characters, props, set, costumes, and actions -- as close to exactly as possible from only their memory. The cast is made up of members of Wham City, Dan Deacon Ensemble, Ed Schrader's Music Beat, Future Islands, Red Room Collective, Copycat Theater, Effervescent Dance Collective, Showbeast, Annex Theater, Nuclear Power Pants, FlucT, BXDC, Bloody Panda, Foot Talk, Important Comics, the Baltimore Museum of Art, and various icons of the legendary Baltimore Arts Community. Music: "Sail" by Awolnation http://awolnationmusic.com Originals: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWfph3iNC-k GET WELL SOON JEB! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WJmxi3vYRU&feature=youtu.be If you are disturbed by this video then I recommend that you listen to this podcast http://www.radiolab.org/2010/sep/20/ about the science behind falling cats and why they almost always land on their feet, even after falling from 40+floors up. On average, about 4 cats per day fall out of buildings in NYC and survive...Seriously, cats are badasses!...Just listen to it. (they begin the cat discussion at around 25 minutes in but the physics starts at 30 minutes in) It didn't match perfectly at first. I had to tweak the clip speed levels a couple times. Another Let's draw :) Doing this for the co-op commentary which I'm going to do with ACP(AngryCowProduction). Program: Photoshop CS5 Real time taken: 4 hours, 55 minutes (without recording the red line base.) Time taken with red lined base: Around 7 hours I'm not showing the base of the lines which in this video are red. This is because I'm not comfortable with recording while doing them. Getting stressed and crap like that. Don't ask me why. Maybe going to show them in the future, but not now :S Music by: http://www.youtube.com/user/MachinimaSound Song: Beyond the Stars
